Minecraft 26.1 Snapshot 8: Baby Mobs Get Visual Overhaul!
Minecraft Snapshot 26.1 Snapshot 8 is Live!
G'day gamers! Get ready for the cutest snapshot yet! Minecraft's latest update, Snapshot 8 for version 26.1, has just dropped, and it's all about giving our adorable baby mobs a fresh coat of paint. But it's not just about looks; there are some sneaky technical tweaks under the hood too. Let's dive in!
Baby Mob Visual Updates
The following baby mobs have received updated visuals:
- Panda
- Hoglin
- Zoglin
- Strider
- Snifflet
Hitbox Adjustments
Some of the smaller mobs are getting a bit of a squeeze! Their hitboxes have been adjusted so they can fit into tighter spaces:
- Zombie
- Husk
- Drowned
- Piglin
- Zombified Piglin
- Villager
- Zombie Villager
- These mobs can now fit in spaces 1 block high and 0.5 blocks wide.
Other Key Changes
- Stonecutter Recipes: Deepslate can now be directly crafted into cobbled, polished, brick, and tile variants in the Stonecutter. Stone can also be crafted into cobbled variants.
- Horse Markings: Adult horse's blackdot markings have been updated to be visually closer to the new baby horse markings.
- Sound Updates: Some sound assets for the adult sound variants have been updated.
- Creative Mode: Using Ctrl + Pick input as an operator on players and mannequins will now show the same results as executing the /fetchprofile command for this entity would.
- IME Support: Input Method Editors (IME) candidates will now be shown in-game (on supported platforms, currently Windows and macOS) above currently edited text field.
- Fullscreen Update: Fullscreen no longer uses exclusive mode.
- Debug Screen: Added a new entry called detailed_memory with additional information about used memory.
- JVM Options: Decreased the initial heap size to 2GB.
Technical Changes
- The Data Pack version is now 99.2.
- The Resource Pack version is now 81.1.
